West Derby, Liverpool

A recent development on Everton F.C's old training ground, this plot had been recently turfed by developers but the brief from the client was to "start from scratch". They added, "We would like the garage converted into a gym and we like to have parties so a bar would be nice, and the grand kids would like somewhere to play too."

So off we went, to get rid of the grass. We needed to get the digger to excavate the founations for the bar area. We were going to build our own cedar clad, fully insulated garden room complete with grey bi-fold doors, Karndean flooring and a bespoke constructed bar, complete with fridges, TV etc.

The fondations and the construction of the walls could begin - some were to be rendered with intergrated artwork set into the render. Others were tiled with granite to match the paving on the floor. Silver granite and black limestone was the paving of choice which complements the dark grey composite decking, denoting the seating area with contemporary modular funiture. The tables and chairs for dining sit in front of a bio-ethanoll fireplace - perfect for evening entertaining in our unpredictable evening climates.

Contemporary containers planted with various topiary specimens give these areas further modern feel. The bold planting in the borders and the artifical grass give this garden the low maintainace environment the clients require for their busy lives.

A gym, BBQ, bar and a low maintainance garden... the perfect outdoor living space we all could do with!
